How it works
How a finished clip gets from our editing machine to the TikTok account @thehookroomcom, and what the tool shows and asks before anything is posted.
1. Connect with TikTok
The tool uses TikTok Login Kit. The account owner signs in on TikTok's own page and approves three permissions:
user.info.basic: shows which account is connected (display name and avatar).video.upload: sends a clip to the account's TikTok inbox as a draft, to finish and post in the TikTok app.video.publish: posts a clip directly to the account after the owner confirms it.
Access can be revoked at any time in the TikTok app under Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Apps and services permissions.
2. Review the clip
Before posting, the tool asks TikTok for the connected creator's current posting options and shows:
- the account the clip will be posted to (nickname and avatar);
- a playable preview of the exact video file that will be uploaded;
- the title and hashtags, which can be edited;
- a check that the clip is not longer than the account is allowed to post.
3. Choose the settings
- Who can view this video: picked by the person posting from the options TikTok offers for that account. Nothing is pre-selected.
- Allow comments, Duet and Stitch: separate choices, each off until switched on. Options the account has turned off in TikTok are shown greyed out.
- AI-generated content: if the clip contains AI-generated images, video or voice, it is posted with TikTok's AI-generated content label.
4. Disclose commercial content
A Disclose video content switch is off by default. When it is switched on, the person posting chooses one or both:
- Your brand: the clip promotes The Hook Room itself. TikTok labels it "Promotional content".
- Branded content (#ad): the clip promotes a third party in exchange for something of value. TikTok labels it "Paid partnership". Branded content cannot be posted as "Only me" (private).
If the switch is on but neither option is chosen, the Post button stays disabled until one is chosen.
5. Confirm and post
Above the Post button the tool shows TikTok's declaration, for example "By posting, you agree to TikTok's Music Usage Confirmation", or "By posting, you agree to TikTok's Branded Content Policy and Music Usage Confirmation" when branded content is selected. Nothing is uploaded until the person presses Post.
After posting, the tool explains that TikTok may take a few minutes to process the video, and shows the result when TikTok reports it.
What the tool never does
- It never adds watermarks, logos or promotional overlays to the video.
- It never posts to any account other than the one that signed in.
- It never reads followers, messages, likes or anyone else's data.
